Thanksgiving has creeped up on us, shockingly  being only  2 days away.  I'm sure we'll all have to stop by the grocery store for last minute necessitates to make a killer turkey day - just make sure you don't get trampled by the hundreds of other people scrambling through Stop and Shop. BOSTON – For years, the Samuel Adams Brewery in Jamaica Plain was one of the top tourist destinations in Boston, with millions of people visiting each year. But, one thing was missing – you couldn’t enjoy a pint of your favorite Samuel Adams beer. They only allowed samples. That has now changed. Last week, Samuel Adams opened its brand-new taproom at its 30 Germania St. brewery. Now visitors can tour the brewery, taste samples and drink full pints or flights of several of their favorite brews. “It’s awesome. It’s a great space,” said Brewery Manager Jennifer Glanville. ” I really designed the space I want to hang out in. I hang out at a lot of taprooms. This has a lot of casual seating, communal tables. The experts here at Craft Brewniversity are here to educate you on a fantastic crafty American Double Imperial IPA we were lucky enough to try within recent weeks.  This special craft called Vicinity was brewed by the masters at Trillium Brewing Company based out of Boston and Canton Massachusetts.   This Craft is a must try when available at the Trillium locations.  Look - Has a hazy orange straw colored look. Smell - Consists of fruity, light citrus, grape, and hoppiness. Taste - Light citrus taste, with tropical fruit notes, and grape juice.  It is fruity but moderately bitter                taste on the palate. Feel - Vicinity is medium to full body, has light carbonation, and has a small dry finish. Took a pit stop while driving on a Sunday afternoon and found this gem hidden in the small town of Maynard, MA . Many of you might of heard of this brew house, but this was a first for me. I was eager to order a beer once I read they were brewed in house, and to say the least I was not disappointed. The drink I choose was the Midnight Rider Porter (yes, I did order it for the name). The beer was described to have "wisps of campfire smoke and coffeehouse aromatics" as well as "a touch of molasses and a hearty amount of flaked maize". The flavor was rich and dark with hints of espresso, making it a coffee lovers dream. Not to mention the southern style BBQ was killer, and a perfect combo for any craft beer (considering they have 9 in house brewed beer to offer , there's an option for everyone). A old Austrian brewery - Starkenberger , built the world's first-ever  beer swimming pools in their  brewing castle . There's Seven 13-foot pools of warm beer,  each containing 42,000 pints to soak up and relax in. The pools have been running since 2005, their old fermentation cellar of the 700-year-old castle became obsolete, hence the beer pools were born.  Now you're probably thinking about how gross this would be, however  beer is actually chalk full of vitamins and calcium, as well as notably recognized to help heal open wounds   (Cleopatra herself was famously known to bathe in beer for this reason).  Knowing this, I think we can all disregard the sticky  residue the bath will leave us with. Taking a dip will cost you a pretty penny though: $ 298   a pool - with an additional  $6.50 per person swimming . (And that's only for 2 hours!) Trillium   Brewery welcomed the start of fall with a Double Indian Wheat Ale craft beer named Deciduous that will knock your socks off.  This Double Indian Wheat Ale definitely made my short list of best beers I have had the pleasure to try. Deciduous was introduced to commemorate New England's famous changing foliage .  This craft when poured into a glass delivers an  orange medium body, foamy white head, with lower than usual carbonation.   The smell gives off an aroma of pine, grapefruit, melon, and blend of fruits . It is a soft and sweet beer that ends with a slight subtle bitterness. This unusual craft unfortunately was only available for a short time. It has not been retired but could potentially come back next fall.  This time next year keep an eye out on the Trillium's Canton and Fort Point locations to see if we are lucky enough for this craft beer to make a reappearance.  If it does, we HIGHLY recommend Deciduous. #IdTapThat...

                Mighty Squirrel is a Boston based brewing company that launched their first commercial craft beer back in 2015. The two co-founders , Henry and Naveen, met at a medical equipment company where they were both product managers. According to their website, both men are fans of a nice celebratory beer and also enjoy staying active. So they wanted to create a beer that fit into their lifestyle. While it is common practice for brewers to remove any proteins, naturally found in barley, Henry and Naveen wanted to use it to there advantage and craft a unique beer. Before prohibition, beer had been mainly distributed in bottles, and by the tap. Canned food had already been established, leaning many beer companies to look into canning beer. Unfortunately there was a problem: the  cost of the materials and the need to have a strong enough can to withstand the pressure from pasteurization . When prohibition had been repealed in 1933, the American Can Co. created "Keglined" cans that solved the problem. The first company to implement these "Keglined" cans was the Gottfried Krueger Brewing Co.    This was the first official can on beer produced, and  only had a 3.2% alcohol content, which as insane as it may sound, was the highest alcohol content allowed for consumption in 1933! Took a trip to Burlington Vermont this past weekend and visited an amazing craft brewery called Foam Brewers .  This brewery is located right on Lake Champlain in Burlington with a great waterfront view.  I am a massive fan of Double IPAs and fortunately for me Foam Brewers had a impeccable one on tap called Mountain Energy . This delightful Double IPA packed a punch at 9% ABV and had delicious notes of citrus, ripe papaya, and dank.  Mountain Energy gave off an aroma of fruity dank hops.  It was medium bodied, and had an initial blended taste of a few different fruits such as ripe papaya, pineapple, and grapefruit.  The after taste gave a refreshing dank bitter finish.  I would absolutely recommend giving the Mountain Energy a try but it is a rotating craft beer so make sure to check before you go!  #I'dTapThat
